3 Party Venue Traps to Avoid
A great party venue is one of the most important ingredients for a succesful party. I often see thre mistakes people make with the venue. It can totally ruin an otherwise great party.
Avoid venues with a lack of atmosphere
I have been at two parties lately where the host has rented a room in a retirement home or primary school. It doesn’t cost much and it’s BYO, which is good. However, they set a pretty bad party mood. They are so grey and boring. You have to have done a really good job with the rest of the planning process to make this a success.
Gray and boring party premisses can actually work, but they require much more decorations and great lighting & music.
Can you turn this into a great party venue?

2. Avoid venues that are too big
One of the parties I have been to was held in a primary school, and it didn’t go too well. The room could fit about 150 people, but only 40 people were there. The guests were either standing tucked into the corner or spread out along the wall. The hall felt empty and it put a huge dampner on the party right from the start.
This is actually a very common mistake. Make sure the venue is suitable for the number of guests!
3. Make sure the music equipment is good enough for the venue
Surprisingly often I see people hiring a large room for their party and a small boom blaster for the music. This is terrible. You can hardly hear the music at all unless you are standing right next to the speakers. The music just turns into addd background noise.
Make sure that the speakers covers the whole room, even when it’s full of guests.
