The guests outfit
Theme party doesn’t always mean dress up party. Be careful before you ask the guests to dress up. I have been to some parties where the guests have been asked to dress up, but the host hasn’t done anything else to create the theme of the party. What is the point of getting dressed up then? Dressing up only works if the host makes an effort with the rest of the party ingredients.
Decorations
Get to know your theme, it can give you endless inspiration for the decorations and setting the right atmosphere. The best parties I have been to have their own special atmosphere.
Food & drinks
You can do a lot with the theme in the food and drinks sections. It can be theme inspired by the ingredients and recipes used, shapes, colours, etc. The drinks can have names inspired by the theme. For example, if you are having a Caribbean party you can have a drink called ”Jamaican cooler”. You can also check with your local liquer store if they stock any drinks related to your selected theme.
Music & entertainment
This can also easily be theme inspired. For a Caribbean party you can for example go to myspace.com to find reggae music.
